Failing Forward

“Why are we here?” is a thought that goes through my mind often. Not a day goes by that I don’t think about what our purpose in life is—what we are supposed to achieve. It’s a billion-dollar question. Philosophers have debated this topic since the reign of the Roman Empire maybe even earlier, yet no one has been able to provide a solid or absolute answer.

I don’t know either—and honestly, I don’t think I want to. I believe the mystery is a very interesting part of it.

What I try to do, though, is be good, no matter what life throws at me. I remember who I was as a kid and how I imagined myself as an adult, and I try to hold on to that vision. I follow my convictions. I love, I feel, I try to live in the present. I take long breaths every now and then, and I fail forward.
